Vastu tips for Pooja Room

The pooja room, or sacred worship space, is an integral part of a home where positive vibrations and divine energy converge. To ensure the sanctity and effectiveness of this space, it's essential to follow certain principles. Here are key rules to consider before designing a pooja room:

  • Situate the pooja room in the North, East, or Northeast side of the house.
  • Face towards East/North while worshipping.
  • If idols are kept, ensure their height is between 2" and 9", and the legs of the idol should align with the chest level of the worshipper.
  • Avoid storing anything above the cabinet or slab where the idol is placed.
  • Never place the pooja room in a bedroom or on a wall adjacent to a bathroom.
  • Before entering the pooja room, wash hands and feet, ensuring the left hand cleans the feet first and the water is poured with the right hand.
  • Use copper vessels, especially for water collection.
  • Avoid drawing triangular patterns of any deity in the Pujaghar.
  • Walls of the pooja room should be white, lemon, or light blue, and white marble should be used.
  • Doors and windows of the worship room should be in the North or East.
  • Place the Agnikund in the southeast direction of the worship room, with offerings made facing East.
  • Position the lamp stand in the Southeast corner of the pooja room.
